Traveled with Catta to her Parent's home in Falun, Dalarna, and then off to friends' houses and cabin to enjoy Midsummer- it was fantastic and beautiful, and the best way to spend the last days before flying home.

A bus and a ferry ride to the island of Åland, Finish-owned and Swede-inhabited, in the middle of the Baltic Sea. We stayed in a cabin at Käringsundsbyn, in Ekerö.

The Qs and Klubbverk from each of the 13 nations come together for the ball of balls.

From Kalmar for dinner to VG for the afterparty, from Goteborg for sunrise back to VG for breakfast, ending almost 24 hours later with Kubb and Fika at Kalmar again, we all had a ball!

The Origional Gangsters competed in the trans-Upplands road rally, consisting of hours upon hours of impossilbe-to-solve in-swedish rebuses, matching photographs to scenary outside windows, and lots of other crazy stuff.

The last day of April is the Student's holiday in Uppsala, and an expected 50,000 people from all over the country flood the city to celebrate- the party starts with champaign and strawberries for breakfast while watching a student boat race down the river, and continues on with parties all day and into the night. (The last pictures are of the kalmar girls who went to 10 clubs in 50 minutes).

Stones at Kalmar, Upplands, Göteborgs, Värmlands, New York Social Club basement sessions at OG, La Dolce Vita at Norrlands, and back to OG; Followed up the next night by Elevation with Terry Jones!

So many pictures of the amazing contrast between mideval city (both well restored and going to ruins), the new rich financial district, and the outside markets where the rest of the country shops.

First of April- Started the Thursday out with a staff meeting, followed by Pea Soup at Snerkes with Frack/Ball Dress/Folk Dress, walked around Uppsala and played in the Park and Ångstrom, then ate at Norrlands, and finally came to Kalmar for Ice Cream.

It started out as a beautiful early spring day; Catta was elected 3Q, the party started, and then quickly degraded to where Magnus and I become quite ... drunk.

The Lucia Gasque is a very special dinner commemorating a very special holiday in Sweden- 100+ of us ate a great dinner over the course of 7 hours (and many songs) before dancing around a Christmas tree and ending the night with a 4 hour after-party dance.

The mounds at Gamla Uppsala are century-old burrial grounds for royalty. It used to be the location of the city Uppsala as well as the origional Uppsala Cathedral, though after the great fire a new Cathedral was built about 5km away, and the town Uppsala moved with it. More later when I go back to get some daytime pix!

David and the Citizens played at Norrlands for Beat on the Brat this evening... many of the pictures were taken experimentally from the middle of a mosh pit one row behind the stage.

The snow started at 2:30am, and just kept going, suprising the entire town when they awoke in the morning. It stuck all day, and now as the sun sets it has begun to snow again.

A quick shot or two of home and one of the buildings I study in, then a trip to Stockholm including Kulturhuset (culture house, a giant museum/playground in the middle of the city), the city center, a great waffel and coffee house, and some views of the city at night.

So this is what it looks like when you have real trees in the fall.

I arrived to the city upon water at night, finding myself in a closed train station surrounded by water (the front steps lead up directly from the Grand Canal), during a serious rain. Wet, wet, wet.

While many tourists may never leave the Northern part of the city, the Southern part under the river keeps many treasures, including Piazzale Michelangelo (with the most beautiful view of Florence), and the San Miniato al Monte, a beautiful Cathedral overlooking the city (which I did not have a chance to explore since they were holding Sunday services during my visit).

The train pulls into Florence's Stazione Centrale di Santa Maria Novella, located at the Northern most tip of central Florence. A quick 20 minute stop in Bologna to change trains and see what was out there.

Saint Peter's is THE Cathedral when it comes to the Catholic faith. The place is enormous, so much so that it is difficult to get a sense for exactly how big it actually is.

Churches, Fountain of Trevi, Spanish Steps, meeting up with friends in Italy .... wow, who could ask for anyting more.

The best way to get a clean picture of the Colosseum without tourists is to go on a day when it rains. A thunderstorm hit in the early afternoon, complete with lightning bolts around this magnificent structure. The temporary platforms erected over the center were for a charity dinner held a few weeks before my visit.

Taking a week off of school, I took a combination of busses, trains, and planes to arrive in Italy for a week. These are the general pictures of my journey, over which time I took about 500 pictures and gained about 500 pounds eating great food.

Gröna Lund is a large theme park located on one of the islands in the Stockholm archipeligo, on the waterfront. Because of the unstable weather & drastic temperature differences, the park closes early so as not to risk being open once it is too cold; We visited for the last couple hours before it closed for the year.

The story goes that a man was once disecting a dog who had died of some illness in the name of science, and discovered the lymph system. Believing that their was a corilation, he mutilated dog up to the castle and continued to disect the dog in front of the queen, who of course was fascinated. It was determined that we could learn a lot about the human body and health by establishing the Anatomical Theater, where criminals were disected for over a century in front of students, dignitaries, and the royal family.

Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, has a population of about 750,000, though the city is remarkably large when compared with a city like Tucson, population 843,000. It has been called the 'Venice of the North', and is located centrally on the East coast of the country.

Skansen is the first open-air museum in the world (1891), which is kind of set up like Disneyland & is huge (300k square meters). It is composed of a giant collection of imported old Swedish houses from around the country, to document for future generations how the Swedes used to live.

Kalmar Nation, to which I belong, started out as one of the smallest nations in Uppsala (representing not a region but the city of Kalmar, located in the South), but has gained a reputation for two of the best discos in the city (Elevation and Stones) and grown dramatically in the last decade. They throw many partys & gasques, and the pub downstairs is open every night. Kalmar is

This old cemetary is so full of green and life it is sometimes difficult to remember its purpose. The grounds are well kept, and gardening equiptment are available to the public. It is common to see someone wandering about, visiting graves and raking the sand around them in beautiful swirling patterns.

The Cathedral sits in the middle of the town; It has a long history, starting with it's construction before the reformation in the early 1300's upon the site of the murder of King Erik Jeduardsson (St. Erik). The towers we see now were built after the great fire of Uppsala in 1702 severely damaged the old cathedral. It is as tall as it is wide (exactly 118.7 meters in both directions), and you can see it from wherever you are in town (building regulations ensure it.) It became a Evangelical Lutheran church by the Synod of Uppsala, and now part of the Church of Sweden (that seperated from the state in 2000). It is estimated that each year 500,000 people visit the church, and 85,000 candels are lit.

The town of Uppsala is overseen by a working castle, currently undergoing renovations, which leades into a beautiful and well-maintained garden.

Rackarberget (the student housing complex in which I live) is located on Rackarbergsgatan and St. Johannasgatan, about 4 blocks west of the city; the 13 nations make up a large part of the social life for the students, and are located around the city, many about 1 block west of it.

The beautiful city of Uppsala is located about 50 miles north of Stockholm, in Sweden. It is mainly a university town, however it has a very steady population of 200k. The university of Uppsala was established in the early 16th century, and it as well as the rest of the city is situated around a giant cathedral in the center.

Maybe the most recognized structure in London is the clock tower Big Ben, connected to the British House of Parliment, and next to Westminster Abbey.

Recently above the river Thames BA constructed the world's largest Ferris Wheel, which is quite an engineering feet spinning literally over the water suspended by giant poles from the land next to it. There are 32 cars, made of glass in the shape of eggs, which comfortably seat 10-15 passangers on a 30 minute tour of London from the air.

On my way to Sweden, I took an extended layover (3 days) to play around London. These pictures don't even begin to capture the eye candy this city has to offer! The entire city is a giant playground for adults.

A beautiful trip with a beautiful lady and great friends up to Friday Harbor in the San Juan islands for whale watching near the Olympics (orcas!).

Summer nights on Alki beach across from the Seattle skyline, and in the park watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Out with Steph and the Stallard Sisters to see Seattle (sense the alliteration? there's more...) We started out at the peer, went to the Pike Place Public market, and then over to the City Center to see the waterfall, eventually ending at Zeek's for dinner.

48 hours of insanity running around Washington state solving clues. Amazing.

I took a voyage back to Tucson for the 4th of July weekend. Mount Lemon was burning, the air was hazy, but it was nice to see my family and friends again knowing Sweden was in the near future.

I was fortunate in my 2nd week at MS to meet a beautiful girl named Stephanie at Milt's BBQ on her first night at work. She kept me laughing with her wonderful ability to find humor in everything, and impresed by her knowledge of virtually everything (apparently I live in a bubble), but most importantly, she made me feel loved. We started dating in the middle of July, and had a lot of fun roller blading, ice skating, driving around the city looking for mansions, exploring, talking, eating good food, traveling, going on intern trips, and going out with friends, just to name a couple things. I already miss her, the time went by too quickly.

My all-time favorite restaurant, we stuffed ourselves at dinner, wandered over to Gameworks, and then walked around the city until late in the night.

Our first nights out together, starting in a swanky booth at Jazz Alley, then for a home-cooked mexican fiesta at Cindy's, and some fun in the MS cafeterias.

Kind of supr of the moment, Kate invited me to join her and her extended family and friends in Victoria, BC to celebrate her cousin becomming a Bat Mitzvah.
